Over the course of more than 20 years in my professional career, I  witnessed the unnecessary suffering of many patients caused by inequalities in end-of-life care. However, the heartbreaking experience of witnessing my brother Humberto’s death, a victim of these same inequities, transformed my pain into determination, driving me to raise my voice to advocate for better access to care and change the way how our culture perceives death. Through education and access to equitable resources, I am committed to empowering historically vulnerable communities and bring dignity to end-of-life care for every individual.

As a Bilingual Health Professional, I am passionate about educating Spanish-speaking communities in my native language, ensuring they understand their rights, options, and available resources for high-quality end-of-life care. With every workshop, discussion, and community event, my goal is to create safe and culturally sensitive spaces where individuals can actively engage in meaningful conversations about life, death, and the cultural traditions that make us unique, all while fostering an environment of support and well-being.
